III. Crocodile Conclusio

It is God’s will for me to befriend Lady Crocodile,

To lay on her black skin.

Without her I would be lost.

She provides me a place of rest.

I am no longer alone in the abyss

She, too, a creation of God.

Supposedly the most cruel and evil creature,

But here she is, my protectress.

This follows from many traditions that speak of alchemy. In Dante’s Commedia, for example, we see the exit from Inferno (hell) into Purgatorio (purgatory), the stage from which he will eventually ascend into Paradiso (paradise). Jung, too, writes of the alchemy that occurs between polar opposites.
